Why Inspect a Prefab?

A prefabricated or premanufactured house is a good option for a number of reasons. Nowadays they come in many different styles and at a range of prices to suit every budget. So, if you have never considered a prefabricated house before, you may want to look into it. There are, however, some things you should consider before choosing this type of property.

Perhaps the most important aspect to think about is where you will put your prefabricated home. There are several options available. For example, you could buy a piece of land to put your house on. You could also lease land that is specifically intended for this type of home. Then there is the option of buying the home and the land together. Before deciding what option to go for, make sure you are familiar with the zoning laws, utility connections, and any other regulations associated with prefabricated housing for your particular location.

You will also want to study the manufacturer’s warranty very carefully. Certain actions you take could void the warranty, so you will need to be aware of them. You should also check that the warranty covers the transportation of the home.

Once the house is finally in place, have it inspected. Why is this necessary? Because you want to make sure the house has been set up properly and that everything is working exactly as it should be. It may have also been damaged during transport, so you will want to check this isn’t the case.
