Enormous Fun but Is It Safe?

We are talking about backyard trampolines in this blog. As we all know, trampolines can be a huge amount of fun for the whole family. However, without wishing to dampen the joy, trampolines can also cause accidents and injury. So, how can you make sure your backyard trampoline is fun and at the same time safe?

Think about the location of the trampoline and the surface you place it on. For example, if someone were to fall off it, you would want them to land on a soft, spongy surface such as wood chips. Then there is the construction of the trampoline itself. Trampolines have a lot of metal springs attached to them. To avoid serious injury it is important to cover these springs with padding. Surrounding the trampoline with a net will also help to prevent an accident.

Very often, the sight of a trampoline makes us think we are a child again. But we may no longer have the flexibility of a child. Anyone suffering from a previous injury, especially of the neck and head, or anyone who is not very fit should be extra careful on a trampoline or may even wish to avoid it altogether.

Remember that, as the owner of the trampoline, you are responsible for the people using it. Make sure that any children who are using it are supervised at all times, and do your best to ensure it is as safe as possible.
